Brian Carpenter & The Confessions

September 11, 2015 by Rafi

brian-carpenter-promo-2015-650x400Two tracks from Brian Carpenter & The Confessions upcoming debut, The Far End of the World, have been released in the last couple of weeks. The band was tracked in Studio A (to 2″ tape), vocals were overdubbed in Studio B (and elsewhere), and mixed both by Craig Schumacher at his Wavelab Studio in Arizona, and by Rafi Sofer at Q. They have been described as “(a) band that plumbs the darker depths of Americana, creating an “avant-noir” sound in which you can hear faint echoes of modern-day Swans, Timber Timbre, and of course Johnny Cash…”

John Stiles feat. Rachel Siegel – Under the Bridge (Red Hot Chili Peppers)

September 7, 2015 by Rafi

Filmed and recorded in Studio A, this production features a modern version of Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. With a vibrant and colorful fusion atmosphere mixed in, this song highlights the songwriting of RHCP by giving it a poppy and jazzy twist, with a fitting string/choir arrangement support.

Sleep Crimes – Twin Geeks (Rubber Tracks)

August 14, 2015 by Rafi

We hosted and met so many bands during the 18 month long residency of Converse’s Rubber Tracks pop up studio that we’ve completely lost track of everyone who visited! Here’s a great couple of loud sludgy rocker from Sleep Crime. I’d love to know what was going on with the guitars, the fuzz is fantastically lush! Engineered by Matt Beaudoin in Studio A.
