Peter Buzzelle – Devil Love

October 7, 2016 by Jeremy Bernstein

Peter Buzzelle And The Academy’s September release, Devil Love is filled with crunchy guitars, driving drums and carefree, fun lyrics. Tracked at both 1867 and Q, and mixed by James Bridges in Studio A, this outing finds PB and his band in full on 90’s rock mode. You can listen to Devil Love on Bandcamp.

Mother Ton – Earthbound

July 26, 2016 by Staff Engineer

Mother Ton sheds some light on their atmospheric, spacey, and extremely groovy sound in their song “Earthbound.” With their super smooth horn arrangements and colorful vocal production, it’s a “no-holds-barred” sound thanks to seamless sectional transitions and some of Studio A’s rarities and accommodations. You can find more of Mother Ton’s music here, including their new album Star2Mars: https://mothertonmusic.bandcamp.com

Abbie Barrett – Take it in Stride

March 27, 2016 by Staff Engineer

It’s what happens when you take the burning talent of Abbie Barrett and the production (and bass) skills of Q Division’s studio manager, Ed Valauskas – Take it in Stride is a whiplash of a record, and tight doesn’t even begin to describe it. Recorded in Studio A and mixed by Pat DiCenso. You can find more of Abbie Barrett’s music here: http://abbiebarrett.com

David Duchovny – Hell or Highwater

May 19, 2015 by Staff Engineer

Singer/Songwriter and actor David Duchovny dips into Q Division for the recording of one of his lyric videos, “Hell or Highwater.” With production assistance by Colin Lee, David combines elements of folk rock and country to blend together a polished sound that is both unique and nostalgic, supported by a talented backing band in Studio A.

As @challymikes would say, we workin’, but we not at work 🎛 Spent the last 3 days “working” with my favorite crew: Chally on drums, @mitchytime251 on keys, #kylemiles on bass, and @feri_bong in the control room with me. Used all 32 channels of this Neve 8068, just about every ribbon mic in the house (RX77’s on overheads though 🤯), 2 kick drums, 4 snare drums tracking basics on 7 songs. Next up, piano solos 🛸
