Hey, look! It’s two brand new tunes from Andrea Gillis! With husband Marc Pinansky on drums, James Rohr on nutty keys, Mike Castellana on guitars, Ed V bassing and producing, and Pat “Denzel” Dicenso engineering, these two tracks showcase two sides of Gillis you’ve probably heard around town for the last 15 years.
Dietrich Strause – The Dove
Dietrich Strause stopped into Studio B along with Lyle Brewer and Zack Hickman to record this lovely song, The Dove. Matt Beaudoin captured and mixed it all the very same day.
David Duchovny – Hell or Highwater
Singer/Songwriter and actor David Duchovny dips into Q Division for the recording of one of his lyric videos, “Hell or Highwater.” With production assistance by Colin Lee, David combines elements of folk rock and country to blend together a polished sound that is both unique and nostalgic, supported by a talented backing band in Studio A.
The Ballroom Thieves & MYRO – Archers
Live from Studio A, under the meticulously watchful ears of Matt Baudoin, comes this great performance of the song Archers by The Ballroom Thieves and the Maine Youth Rock Orchestra. Really fun watching this large ensemble fill Studio A, hearing Matt’s recording and (rough!) mix of this track, knowing it was all captured within the span of a few hours (under the auspices of a Rubber Tracks session).
Autumn Above – Blessed You’re Still
Autumn Above’s newest offering is lush, layered, and lovely (aka the three L’s of album reviews). Q engineer Sean Cahalin plays bass in Autumn Above. He can also be heard playing drums on the recording, which he also mixed. Sean’s pretty talented like that.
