Autumn Above’s newest offering is lush, layered, and lovely (aka the three L’s of album reviews). Q engineer Sean Cahalin plays bass in Autumn Above. He can also be heard playing drums on the recording, which he also mixed. Sean’s pretty talented like that.
Yankee & The Foreigners – Not Negotiable
Not your typical band of warriors, Yankee & The Foreigners arrive in Q Division’s old Studio B to lay down some burning tracks and some strange footage. Blending small areas of folk, bluegrass, and rock together, the 5-piece band brings an eccentric, energetic, and playful attitude to each of their performances. Boasting citizenships from the United States, Canada, the U.K., and Norway, each member of the group brings their own distinctive voice to the music, both as writers and vocalists. This writer, who may or may not be apart of this band, encourages you to check them out here: www.yankeeandtheforeignersofficial.com
Berklee Grammy Album of the Year Mashup
Berklee students explode into a smooth and grandiose mashup arrangement of the 2015 Grammy Album of the Year nominees, including songs from Ed Sheeran, Beck, Beyoncé, and Pharrell Williams. Recorded with help from our very own James Bridges in Q Division’s Studio A (and at The Record Company), the video features an array of talented musicians paying tribute to the artists who helped shape the way for popular music in 2015.
Soft Fangs – Point of View
Soft Fangs’ light and airy vocals pierce through this laid-back acoustic recording, bringing a cool perspective in his track and live video, “Point of View” – engineered by Q’s veteran producer Matt Beaudoin, filmed and edited by Michael Chew as a part of Converse Rubber Tracks productions.
Ross Livermore Band – To Life
The Ross Livermore Band perform one of their slower, downbeat ballads, featuring Studio A’s Hammond C2 organ. This arrangement unwinds with a blended and passionate four-part harmony. The band camped in Studio A for a few days and tracked a bunch of tunes LIVE to our lovely 2″ tape!
