Juliana Hatfield Live Stream!

December 18, 2020 by Rafi

We’re excited to present a live stream with Juliana Hatfield, on December 19th; she’ll be performing “Become What You Are” in its entirety, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar.

We’ll be streaming it from our YouTube page.

A note from Juliana:

I am excited to announce that for my first livestream I will perform, at Q Division Studios, my “Become What You Are” album, start to finish, by myself with an acoustic guitar. It will be broadcast via the Q Division YouTube channel. Showtime is Saturday, December 19th at 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (Massachusetts time).

There is no set ticket price—you can pay what you want, or not. It is up to you. Since none of us—artists nor audiences—can have in-person concerts until who knows when, I am hoping that some of you will be able to contribute something, which will help generate some of that lost touring income. But I understand that a lot of you are struggling financially and I want everyone to be able to see the show—so if you can’t pay, that’s okay!

Starting right now, there will be a “donate” button with my PayPal account at www.julianahatfield.com and a link to the Q Division channel. You can pre-pay (pre-donate) now or at any time from now until and during the show on December 19th.

This is my Christmas/Holiday gift to you—to thank you for continuing to be here, listening—and you will reward me by being present yourselves when I play and sing my album. And we can chat, live, before/after/during the event! The songs still mean a lot to me and I have been so gratified by the way that people responded, and still do, to the music. Cheers!

–Juliana

Juliana Hatfield releases “Juliana Hatfield Sings Olivia Newton-John”

January 31, 2018 by Rafi

Tracked by James Bridges and mixed by Pat DiCenso in studio A, Juliana Hatfield’s Olivia Newton-John tribute album has been described as a match made in female-rocker heaven.  Recorded with her longtime rock ‘n’ roll rhythm section of drummer Pete Caldes and bassist Ed Valauskas of the band Gravel Pit, the record showcases both hit songs and lesser-known tracks from Olivia’s catalog.  Describing her admiration for Newton-John to Paste Magazine she admitted “I never lost my love for Olivia. I never hid it.”

For the sale of every album, one dollar will be donated to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre (ONJ Centre), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing patients with cancer access to leading medical treatment, breakthrough research, and the best in wellness and supportive care.

Amanda Palmer – Small Hands, Small Heart

September 27, 2017 by Rafi

Amanda Palmer and our old friend Sean Slade rolled into Studio A for a couple of days to record a song Amanda wrote with the help of her fans. Proceeds from the sale of the song on Bandcamp went towards hurricane relief in Puerto Rico. Head on over to Amanda’s website to check out the story behind the song. There are even some pictures from the studio in there.

Philosophical Zombie – Cotard’s

October 21, 2016 by Rafi

Cotard’s, Philosophical Zombie’s newest album transports the listener to a dark, beautiful, dreamy world.  The flow of the album has a hypnotic effect, transitioning from spacious ambient sections filled with long delays, rich reverbs and whirling synths to more driving sections, which feature crunchy guitars married to electronic drum sounds.  Songs like Tom Says God and The Clock Runs Backwards highlight contagious hooks that contrast the more open sections of the album. Tracked and mixed by James Bridges in the last days of the old Studio D, Cotard’s is a new offering for those seeking experimental sounds in the context of strong songwriting.
